Fantastic Machu Picchu!

The Machu Picchu mountain (with an altitude of 3,082 masl) is part of the eastern foothills of the Salcantay massif, in Cusco, Peru.

Machu Picchu was discovered by the American anthropologist and historian Hiram Bingham in 1911. Archaeologists estimate that this city was built in the middle of the 15th century. Since 2010, the train services to Machu Picchu have changed their route and name.

Hiram Bingham, Vistadome and Expedition train service departs Poroy from 09:05 to 7:42 and returns between 8:23 to 21:16.

From the Ollantaytambo station, two train services depart, Vistadome and Expedition at different times and are inexpensive.
Treks to Machu Picchu

For adventurers or walkers, there is the Inca Trail. This route is regulated by the Peruvian government, only the amount of 500 people per day can enter, we suggest travelers to book months in advance, since this route is the most requested by walkers and adventurers.

In case you cannot find spaces for the Inca Trail, there are alternative routes to Machu Picchu.

Road to Salkantay: This route is the most requested by walkers, because it is very special, since it passes through the Salkantay snow-capped mountain, on this route you can see nature and finally to Machu Picchu.
Lares trek: The route is appreciated by the local people who wear the famous red ponchos and their houses are still built with stone.
Cachicata: The route is similar to the Inca Trail, you can see an Intipunko (Puerta del Sol), archaeological ruins, Inca mummies and the last day you go by train to Machu Picchu
Inka Jungle trek: For travelers who like adrenaline, this trip is ideal for them. In this trip you will go downhill by bike, rafting, Zip Line, Trek to Machu Picchu.
